Job description
Details & requirements for this opportunity:
- Specialty: Hematology and Oncology
- Requirement: Physician (MD/DO)
- Location: Massachusetts
- Job settings: Outpatient
- Coverage Required: ASAP - 6/1/2026
- Schedule: On-site clinical hours and call if needed
- Credentialing Timeframe: With clean record, 8 weeks, 90 days with issues
- License: An active Massachusetts state license is required
- EMR: Clinic is ONCOEMR, Hospital Cerner
- Must be Board-Certified or Board-Eligible
- Other details: The facility is looking for a provider to cover on-site clinical hours and beeper call if needed. This opportunity is for an Oncology–Hematology provider with a January start and a minimum 6-month commitment (up to 12 months), available to work at least 3–4 days per week, Monday through Friday. Coverage is needed urgently due to two MDS departures, with a preference for candidates who have a clean record and an active MA license. The role is primarily outpatient, involving scheduled clinic hours with after-hours call, seeing approximately 15–18 patients per day, rounding on an average of 5 patients, and handling about 10 calls while on call, primarily via beeper, with call-backs being rare. Providers will spend about one hour rounding per day, and admissions are required. Board certification is required, temporary privileges are available for candidates with a clean record, and only CVs with an active license will be considered; IMLC bids are not accepted. The EMR used is OncoEMR in the clinic and Cerner in the hospital. There are no procedures or surgeries required, no supervision of advanced practice providers (though an NP is present in the practice), and no resident or teaching responsibilities. Estimated credentialing time is approximately 8 weeks for a clean record, or up to 90 days if there are issues.
