- Coverage Type: Clinical Only
- Coverage Period: 04/06/2026 Ongoing (until full-time hire)
- Clinical Shift Schedule: Monday Friday, 40 hours per week COVERAGE DATES
- Starting April 6, 2026 (ongoing coverage)
PATIENT INFORMATION
- Patient Demographics: Adults
- Patient Volume/Census: Approximately 1215 patients per day
- Phone Consults: Included as part of outpatient care
- Case Mix: Approximately 80% oncology and 20% hematology including benign and malignant hematologic conditions
FACILITY INFORMATION
- EMR System: Epic
- Office Equipment Available: Standard outpatient oncology clinic resources
- Specialty Backup Available: Interventional Radiology for bone marrow procedures
- Support Staff Available: One Nurse Practitioner onsite with nursing support
- Reason for Coverage: Ongoing need pending permanent hire
PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE
- Hospital Privileges Required: Yes
- Temporary Privileges Available: No
- Credentialing Timeline: Approximately 120 days

Requirements: Immunization records, flu vaccine or declination, negative TB or QuantiFERON Gold within one year of start
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Overtime: Daily overtime after 12 hours; weekly overtime after 168 hours
- Malpractice Insurance: Covered REQUIRED PROCEDURES
- Outpatient hematology and oncology evaluation and management
- Bone marrow procedures preferred (most performed by Interventional Radiology)
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Licenses: Active New York medical license required
- Board: Board Certified in Hematology/Oncology
- DEA: As required by facility
- Certifications: As required by facility
- Experience: Outpatient hematology and oncology experience required
- Other Qualifications: Ability to manage mixed oncology and hematology caseload independently
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide outpatient hematology and oncology care to adult patients
- Manage evaluation, treatment planning, and follow-up for oncology and hematology patients
- Collaborate with Nurse Practitioner and nursing staff to deliver coordinated care
- Coordinate with Interventional Radiology for procedural needs
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the Epic EMR system
