• Job Title: Hematology/Oncology Physician
• Job Type: Locum Tenens
• Location: Saint Paul, MN
• Service Setting: Hospital and Infusion Center (Float Pool)
• Coverage Type: Clinical + Call
• Coverage Period: 01/12/2026 – Ongoing (3–6 months, possible extension)
• Clinical Shift Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00a – 4:30p
• On-Call Shift Schedule: Evenings, nights, and weekends as assigned
• Call Type: In-House

• Starting January 12, 2026 (ongoing coverage)

PATIENT INFORMATION
• Patient Demographics: Adults
• Patient Volume/Census: Approximately 30–40 patients shared; 20–23 patients per provider per day
• Admissions: Yes
• Rounding: Included
• Phone Consults: Included as part of call coverage
• Case Mix: Inpatient hematology and oncology with focus on malignant hematology; medical oncology and solid tumor care; infusion services

FACILITY INFORMATION
• No. of Beds in Department: 590-bed hospital
• EMR System: Epic
• Office Equipment Available: Standard inpatient and infusion center resources
• Specialty Backup Available: Oncology and hematology subspecialty support
• Support Staff Available: APP support during daytime inpatient coverage
• Reason for Coverage: Ongoing staffing need within Allina Health float pool

PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE
• Hospital Privileges Required: Yes
• Temporary Privileges Available: Emergency privileges available with active license and clean background
• Credentialing Timeline: Approximately 90 days with active MN license; up to 120 days if licensure is needed

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
• Call Rates: Separate call back, night call, and 24-hour call rates apply
• Orientation: 4 hours non-billable
• Malpractice Insurance: Covered

REQUIRED PROCEDURES
• Inpatient malignant hematology management
• Medical oncology and solid tumor care
• Infusion oversight and coverage

JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Licenses: Active Minnesota medical license required for quick start; IMLC accepted
• Board: Board Certified in Hematology/Oncology
• DEA: Required
• Certifications: BLS
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of hematology/oncology experience
• Other Qualifications: Ability to manage inpatient oncology and hematology patients independently; willingness to take call coverage

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide inpatient hematology and oncology care with emphasis on malignant hematology
• Manage medical oncology and solid tumor patients
• Participate in scheduled clinical coverage and on-call responsibilities
• Collaborate with APPs, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary care teams
• Ensure accurate, timely documentation within the Epic EMR system
