Position Overview
One of our Partners, is seeking a Board-Certified Hematology/Oncology Physician to provide full-time inpatient and call coverage for their hospital-based oncology service. The provider will manage malignant hematology, solid tumor, and infusion therapy cases while collaborating closely with advanced practice providers and the Allina Health Cancer Institute team.
This full-time locum opportunity features weekday coverage (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM) with rotating PM and weekend call, and includes a highly competitive $501/hour pay rate—ranking in the top 5% of hematology/oncology locum pay nationwide for 2025.
Providers can expect to earn approximately $20,040 per week, $80,160 per month, and $260,520 over a 13-week contract, excluding call differentials.
Assignment Highlights
- Coverage Dates: January 12, 2026 – Ongoing
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM + PM/weekend call
- Setting: Inpatient hospital and infusion center
- Patient Volume: 20–23 patients per day (shared census 30–40)
- Support Staff: APPs available during weekdays; physician covers call independently
- Procedures: Malignant hematology and infusion coverage required
- Hospital Size: 590 beds
- EMR: Epic
- Licensure: Active MN license or IMLC accepted (emergency privileges available)
- Contract Length: 3–6 months, with option to extend or convert to permanent
- Joint Commission–certified agency partnership through HPA Healthcare
Job Responsibilities
- Provide inpatient hematology/oncology consults, rounding, and follow-up care
- Manage malignant hematology, solid tumor, and infusion patients
- Supervise and collaborate with APPs and nursing teams
- Review chemotherapy protocols and infusion plans
- Participate in tumor boards and interdisciplinary oncology conferences
- Provide evening and weekend call coverage
- Complete timely and accurate documentation in Epic EMR
Skills & Experience
- Board Certification: Hematology and Oncology (ABIM)
- Licensure: Active MN license or IMLC accepted
- Experience: Minimum 2 years post-fellowship
- Certifications: BLS (AHA) required
- Preferred: Academic or tertiary hospital oncology experience
