Outpatient Hematology/Oncology Locum-to-Perm Opportunity – Saint Joseph Health System (Indiana)
Hospital in Indiana is seeking a Board-Certified Hematologist/Oncologist to support the launch of a new outpatient service line. This is a full-time locum-to-perm role focused entirely on outpatient care with no inpatient rounding. Providers will work with adult and geriatric populations in a high-volume clinic supported by EPIC EMR and oncology-trained nursing staff.

Coverage Period: March 2026 – March 2027

Setting: Outpatient only (no hospital rounding or call)

Patient Volume: ~30 outpatient visits per day

Patient Population: Adult & Geriatric

Practice Mix: 50% Hematology / 50% Oncology
Job Details & Responsibilities

Outpatient management of hematology and oncology patients
-
Perform required procedures including:
-
VAD/CV catheter management
-
Bone marrow biopsy
-

Participate in Tumor Board
-
Manage bone marrow transplant cases (oversight/coordination)
-
Order tests, imaging, and blood bank needs
-
Prescribe and manage chemotherapy (administered by physician or oncology nurse)

Credentialing:
-
With active IN license: ~60 days

Without active IN license: ~90 days

Travel reimbursement included: flights, hotel, rental car, and mileage (IRS rate)

Required Skills & Qualifications

Board Certified Hematology/Oncology – Required

Active Indiana Medical License – Required
