Key Responsibilities:
- Provide inpatient and outpatient Hematology and Oncology care, primarily in a hospital setting with some outpatient coverage.
- Oversee and collaborate with Nurse Practitioners to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Enroll eligible adult patients in ongoing research studies, contributing to the advancement of cancer care.
- Participate in call coverage as needed to maintain seamless patient services.
Required Skills:
- Valid Medical License for Virginia or eligibility to obtain one.
- Board certification or eligibility in Hematology and Oncology.
- Proven experience in managing adult oncology and hematology cases.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong documentation skills with proficiency in EPIC EMR.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Prior experience with research enrollment and clinical trials.
- Experience supervising Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants.
- Familiarity with inpatient and outpatient oncology workflows.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Hematology and Oncology practice, preferably in a hospital setting.
- Current Board Certification in Hematology and Oncology.
Other Requirements:
- Coverage dates: April 2026, with weekly Monday through Friday availability.
- Willingness to participate in call coverage and inpatient rounding.
- Compensation at $19,500.00 per week, paid weekly via direct deposit.
- Must adhere to all applicable licensure, certification, and travel or reimbursement policies.
- Commitment to providing high-quality patient care in accordance with all state, federal, and local laws.
