Required Skills:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) with board certification in Hematology and Oncology.
- Valid medical license to practice in Virginia.
- Proven experience in adult inpatient and outpatient oncology care.
- Strong leadership skills with experience supervising Nurse Practitioners.
- Competence in enrolling patients in clinical research trials.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with EPIC Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience working in a research-focused oncology practice.
- Prior experience in hospital-based inpatient oncology care.
- Familiarity with VA healthcare systems and policies.
- Additional certifications in oncology or research methodologies.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Medical degree from an accredited institution.
- Board certification in Hematology and Oncology.
- Minimum of 3 years post-residency or post-fellowship clinical experience in oncology.
- Prior experience in a locum or temporary clinical role is advantageous.
Other Requirements:
- Coverage dates from January 19 through January 30, 2026.
- Ability and willingness to handle call duties.
- Must adhere to all applicable licensure, certification, and compliance requirements.
- Travel and licensure reimbursements available when applicable.
