Bassett Healthcare Network, a leading academic health system in rural upstate New York, is seeking an experienced, visionary physician leader to serve as Chief of the Bassett Cancer Institute.
This role will provide strategic and clinical leadership across Hematologic Oncology and Radiation Oncology services, overseeing cancer care at multiple sites including Bassett Medical Center (Cooperstown), FoxCare (Oneonta), Herkimer Specialty Services, and Cobleskill Regional Hospital. The Chief will report to the Chief Clinical & Academic Officer.

Job Responsibilities
Lead a multidisciplinary, patient-centered cancer program with a strong focus on quality, innovation, and access to clinical trials.
Oversee staffing, workflows, and care standards across all oncology locations.
Drive recruitment, operational performance, and budget management.
Collaborate with Surgical Oncology and support teams (nurse navigators, social workers, palliative care, etc.).
Maintain a clinical presence through outpatient care and program involvement.
Qualifications
Eligible for NYS medical license.
7+ years of clinical experience and 5+ years in a leadership role (Medical Director, Section Head, etc.).
Strong communication skills and a record of leading multidisciplinary teams and quality initiatives.
Experience within a multi-site health system preferred.
