Job description Locum Hematologist/Oncologist – Marquette, Michigan

2 Weeks/Month Ongoing | Outpatient Focused | Supportive Multidisciplinary Team

Opportunity Snapshot: A comprehensive cancer program in Marquette, MI is seeking a Board-Certified Hematologist/Oncologist for ongoing locum coverage beginning January 5, 2026 – January 15, 2026 (ending 8a on January 16), with potential for long-term, recurring assignments. This position offers a strong collaborative environment, state-of-the-art facilities, and a patient-focused, team-based model.

Key Details:

  • Start Date: January 5, 2026

  • Duration: Ongoing, 2 weeks per month (consecutive weeks preferred)

  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8a–5p

  • Call: Occasional nights/weekends (very limited); beeper call, 15-minute response time, 0–5 phone consults

  • Setting: 95% outpatient / 5% inpatient

  • Patient Volume: 10–15 patients per day

  • Team: 1 physician and 3 APPs within a supportive, collegial 4-provider group

  • EMR: Athena (clinic) / Cerner (hospital)

  • Oncology EMR: ONCO EMR

  • Trauma Level: II

Practice Highlights:

  • American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (ACOS CoC), NAPBC, and ACR ROPA accredited program

  • Robust multidisciplinary support including:

  • 13 RNs, 2 navigators, pharmacists, lab techs, social worker, research associate, tumor registry team, and administrative support

Shared space with radiation oncology; collaborative environment with weekly tumor board

Strong primary care referral base and dedicated research department

Outpatient-heavy workload; no induction therapy performed onsite

Inpatient consults primarily handled by APPs

Requirements:

  • Board Certified in Hematology/Oncology – Required

  • Active Michigan Medical License – Required

  • Fellowship in Hematology/Oncology – Preferred

  • ACLS & BLS – Required

  • Experience in outpatient oncology care – Strongly preferred
