Job description
A Hematology/Oncology Physician is needed for locum tenens coverage in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The role involves treating adult patients with a balanced mix of hematology and oncology cases. The position begins as soon as credentialing is completed and will support the existing team while full-time recruitment is ongoing.
Job Responsibilities
• Collaborate with a team of physicians, radiation oncologists, and advanced practice providers
• Manage a patient population that is approximately 50% hematology and 50% oncology
• Participate in weekend rotation coverage (1:5)
• Complete documentation using Epic EMR
• Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver coordinated patient care
Qualifications
• Active NY State Medical License (Required)
• ACLS Certification (Required)
• Ability to manage inpatient and outpatient cases across hematology and oncology
• Strong commitment to quality, patient-centered care
Working Hours
• Preferred schedule: 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off (flexible to M-F with rotating weekends)
• Weekend rotation: 1 in 5
