Job description
- A hospital-based cancer care center is seeking a board-certified Hematology/Oncology physician for locum coverage.
- The role includes a mix of inpatient and outpatient responsibilities, serving an adult patient population.
- Coverage is needed as soon as credentialed while the facility recruits permanent oncologists.
Job Responsibilities
Participate in a rotating weekend call schedule (1:5 rotation)
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including oncologists, radiation oncologists, and advanced practice providers
Manage adult patients requiring both hematologic and oncologic treatments
Document care using Epic EMR system
Qualifications
Active New York medical license – Required
ACLS certification – Required
Clean background and malpractice history – Strongly Preferred
Willingness to commit to rotating or 2-weeks-on/2-weeks-off schedule
Working Hours
Weekend call required (1:5 rotation)
Flexible scheduling model (2 weeks on/2 weeks off or rotating coverage)
Skills
Strong collaboration skills in multidisciplinary cancer care teams
Proficiency with Epic EMR
Ability to balance clinical responsibilities in both hospital and clinic settings
Strong communication and patient-centered care approach
