An established health system in Mason City, Iowa is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Hematology/Oncology Physician to step into a Medical Director leadership role. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity to lead, inspire, and deliver compassionate care in a thriving cancer program.

๐Ÿ“Œ Job Description

  • Build and lead a future-focused Medical Oncology team in a newly renovated Cancer Center ($10M expansion).

  • Foster a culture of excellence and empower colleagues.

  • Provide high-quality outpatient care with instant patient volume.

  • Collaborate with a comprehensive team of Hem/Onc, Rad Onc, APPs, and on-site specialists.

  • Participate in weekly tumor boards and advance program development.

Job Responsibilities

Oversee oncology service line operations and strategy.
Deliver direct oncology patient care with a manageable patient load to ensure work-life balance.
Mentor physicians, APPs, and staff.
Engage in survivorship and genetics programs.
Take minimal call (phone only, 1:4 rotation) with hospitalist team handling most inpatient needs.

Qualifications

Board Eligible or Board Certified in Hematology/Oncology (ABIM or AOBIM).
Eligible for Iowa license or IMLC.
BLS, DEA, and CDS certifications required by start date.
Previous leadership experience preferred.

Working Hours

Full-time, primarily outpatient.
Minimal call requirements, strong hospitalist support.
