Hematology/Oncology Locum Tenens – Richmond, IN | Summer–Winter 2025

Schedule & Coverage

• Weekdays: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (1-hour unpaid lunch)
• Weekend Call: Friday 5:00 PM – Monday 7:00 AM (rotating with physicians & APPs)
• On-Call Coverage: Includes hospital consults and rounding
• Weekend Rounds: Typically Sunday only (10–12 patients)
• Hospitalist Team: Manages emergent issues; most consults wait 24–48 hrs
• Call Burden: Rarely requires return to hospital after initial rounds

Clinical Details

• Clinic Volume: 18–20 patients per day
• Case Mix: ~65% Hematology / 35% Oncology
• Team: 2 oncologists + 4 APPs
• Scope of Work:
  • Oncologists focus on cancer cases
  • APPs manage most hematology patients
  • APPs also share in call rotation (with oncologist backup)
• Setting: Outpatient clinic + hospital consults/rounding as needed
• Hospital Size: 220+ beds
• Trauma Level: III
• EMR: Cerner

• August 29 – September 1 (Primary Call)
• September 2–4 (Clinic)
• September 5–8 (Primary Call)
• September 15–19 (Clinic)
• October 4–6 (Primary Call)
• October 13–17 (Clinic)
• November 3–6 (Clinic)
• November 7–10 (Primary Call)
• December 8–12 (Clinic)

Candidate Requirements

• Active IN license or IMLC
• Board Certified/Eligible (must certify within 5 years of residency)
• Minimum 2 years of experience
• BLS (AHA) required for all providers
• ACLS (AHA) required if seeking conscious sedation privileges
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemption accepted)
• Must complete own order entry
