Job description
Seeking a Locum to Perm Hematologist Oncologist. The hospital includes The Lacks Cancer Center, Hauenstein Neuroscience Center, Orthopedic Center of Excellence, and a premier primary care network. The facility is a recognized leader in neuroscience, cancer care, cardiology, orthopedics, transplant services, and integrative medicine.
Job Responsibilities
Participate in a shared call pool with APP support (ratio 1:5)
Average 10–15 patients per day (hospital), 15 per day (clinic)
Manage benign and malignant hematology, occasional solid tumor patients
Perform FNA/Biopsy procedures
Participate in Tumor Board meetings
Order and interpret tests and imaging
Prescribe treatments and therapies
Qualifications
Active Michigan Medical License – Preferred (will review candidates needing to obtain)
BLS Certification – Required
Prior locums or permanent practice experience preferred
Working Hours
After-hours call coverage, 5:00 PM – 7:00 AM (shared call pool)
Approximate start: October 1, 2025 (ongoing, with potential for permanent placement)
Skills
Strong clinical decision-making and patient management skills
Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
Proficiency in Epic EMR
Comfort working with APPs, Radiation Oncologists, and other specialists
