Job description
Seeking a Board-Certified Hematologist Oncologist to provide locum tenens coverage in a comprehensive cancer care setting. The role includes both inpatient consults and outpatient clinic responsibilities, with support from an established team of physicians and advanced practice providers. The primary focus will be hematology, with limited oncology responsibilities.
Job Responsibilities
Manage both malignant and benign hematology cases, with >90% focus on hematology.
Perform required procedures such as FNA and biopsy.
Participate in tumor boards and multidisciplinary discussions.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests, imaging, and lab studies.
Prescribe treatments and oversee patient management plans.
Collaborate with a team of 6 physicians and multiple APPs across inpatient and outpatient settings.
Share call pool coverage with APP support (after hours 5p–7a, ratio 1:5).
Qualifications
Active Michigan medical license strongly preferred (will consider candidates needing licensure).
BLS certification – REQUIRED
Experience with Epic EMR preferred
Locum tenens or community practice experience preferred
Working Hours
Shared call pool coverage after hours (5:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Estimated credentialing timeframe: 90–120 days
