Seeking a board-certified Hospitalist with a specialty in Oncology or Hematology/Oncology to provide locum inpatient care for oncology and hematology patients. The physician will handle admissions, rounding, and consults in a collaborative, inpatient-only setting without APP coverage. Outpatient oncologists will be available for support.
Job Responsibilities
• Review and administer chemotherapy and related treatments as needed.
• Participate in alternating weekend coverage (every other weekend).
• Collaborate with outpatient oncology physicians for continuity of care.
• Maintain thorough documentation using EPIC EMR and support credentialing needs by submitting all required documentation.
Qualifications
• Idaho medical license – Required
• BLS, CSR, DEA certifications – Required
• COVID vaccination – Required
• Clean background and malpractice history – Required
• Availability at time of name clear – Required
• Local candidates (no flights) – Highly preferred
Working Hours
• Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend
• Call Requirements: Low chance, but may be required occasionally
Skills
• Competency in admitting, rounding, and consulting on complex cancer patients
• Familiarity with chemotherapy protocols and related medication management
• Effective interdisciplinary collaboration and EMR proficiency (EPIC)
• Strong communication skills in high-acuity hospital environments
