JOB OVERVIEW
• Job Title: Hematology/Oncology Physician
• Job Type: Locum Tenens
• Location: Towson, MD
• Service Setting: Outpatient and Inpatient
• Coverage Type: Clinical + Call
• Coverage Period: 10/06/2025 – Ongoing
• Clinical Shift Schedule: Mon–Thu, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM (20 shifts/month expected)
• On-Call Shift Schedule: One weekday call/week + 24-hour call every 4th weekend
• Call Type: In-House; Telephone
• Call Ratio: Weekly weekday + every 4th weekend
• Call Response Time: TBD
COVERAGE DATES
• Starting October 6, 2025
• Ongoing need due to turnover vacancy
PATIENT INFORMATION
• Patient Demographics: Adults only
• Patient Volume/Census: 12–15 patients/day
• Admissions: Average 5 admissions while on call
• Rounding: Yes, on inpatients admitted for oncology
• Phone Consults: Yes
• Case Mix: Hematology and Oncology
FACILITY INFORMATION
• No. of Beds in Department: 221
• EMR System: Epic Beacon
• Office Equipment Available: TBD
• Specialty Backup Available: APP support during daytime inpatient consults
• Support Staff Available: Inpatient APP, clinic support staff
• Reason for Coverage: Turnover Vacancy
PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE
• Hospital Privileges Required: Yes
• Temporary Privileges Available: No (Full Privileges)
• Credentialing Timeline: 60 days
TRAVEL & LODGING
• Travel, Lodging and Malpractice covered
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Licenses: Active Maryland license or IMLC required
• Board: Board Certified in Hematology/Oncology
• DEA: Active DEA Certification required
• Certifications: BLS
• Experience: Minimum 3 years in specialty
• Other Qualifications: Epic experience required
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide outpatient coverage in clinic (Mon–Thu, 8:30–4:30)
• Cover one weekday inpatient consult and night call per week
• Provide 24-hour weekend call every 4th weekend
• Round on oncology-admitted inpatients Monday–Friday
• Coordinate with inpatient APP for consults and continuity of care
• Park in Odea patient garage; business dress required
