- Other Details: The assignment runs from October 30 to November 30, Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with potential weekend 24-hour beeper calls and additional weeks available in December. Weekday call is shared with employed providers and includes answering questions from RNs about patient concerns, chemotherapy-related issues, and occasional ED consults. The facility is a Trauma Level 4 center with no pediatric trauma designation and requires the provider to supervise Advanced Practice Providers. Support staff includes one medical assistant and several RNs, with an 18-bed chemo suite and dedicated pharmacists assisting with chemotherapy education. The cancer center is COC accredited, shares space with radiation oncology, hosts weekly tumor boards, and offers clinical trials, including phases 2 and 3. Average patient volume is 17 per day, with call averages of two phone consults, one patient seen, and one admission per 24 hours. Call response time is 20 minutes with a call ratio of 1:2 and nearly zero call back. Locum's coverage includes both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities.

Job Responsibilities
* Supervise Advanced Practice Providers.
* Participate in weekly tumor boards and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
* Handle weekday and weekend beeper call coverage, including phone consults, patient admissions, and occasional ED consults.
* Address questions from RNs regarding patient care and chemotherapy-related concerns.
* Support clinical trial activities, including phases 2 and 3.
Qualifications
* Experience in outpatient and inpatient oncology care.
* Ability to obtain hospital privileges.
* Familiarity with COC-accredited cancer center operations.
Working Hours
* Weekend call includes 24-hour beeper call coverage.
* Shared weekday call with employed providers.
* Additional weeks available in December.
Skills
* Strong leadership and supervision skills for managing Advanced Practice Providers.
* Effective communication skills for collaborating with RNs, pharmacists, and other staff.
* Ability to respond promptly to beeper calls with a 20-minute response time.
* Competence in handling phone consults, admissions, and occasional emergency consults.
