Position OverviewA prominent academic medical center in a New York City borough is seeking a Sickle Cell Program Director to lead the largest and most comprehensive Sickle Cell Disease program in New York City. This opportunity is driven by unprecedented growth across Southern Westchester County and the Bronx and offers a rare platform to combine clinical leadership, education, and research at the highest level.

Practice within an NCI-Designated Cancer Center

Epic EMR

Lead a program caring for approximately 1,300 sickle cell patients

Join a robust Division of Hematology/Oncology with:

55+ faculty members

45 clinicians

11 laboratory scientists

One of the most established and well-resourced sickle cell programs nationally

Strong institutional commitment to population health, equity, and innovation

Average patient volume: ~15 patients per day
-
Call schedule: 1 weekend every 8 weeks

Oversight and strategic direction of clinical operations, program growth, and quality initiatives

Active involvement in:

Teaching medical students, residents, and fellows

Clinical research and trials
-
Multidisciplinary conferences and collaborative care models

You will be supported by a fully developed, multidisciplinary team, including:

Dedicated Program Director
-
Multiple Nurse Practitioners
-
Clinical Research Associates
-
Dedicated Social Workers
-
Administrative and operational support staff
-
MD or DO
-
Fellowship training in Hematology and/or Medical Oncology
-
Or a demonstrated training pathway and substantial experience in Sickle Cell Disease

True Board Eligible, Board Certified preferred

Demonstrated leadership experience or readiness to lead a large, complex clinical program

Strong interest in academic medicine, education, and research

Competitive base salary up to $400,000, dependent on experience
