As a Hematology-Oncology Physician, you will provide comprehensive outpatient cancer care and occasional inpatient consultations at a community-based hospital. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide outpatient oncology care, managing a caseload of approximately 14-16 patients per clinic day.
- Conduct diagnostic assessments and develop personalized, evidence-based treatment plans for a broad spectrum of cancer conditions.
- Offer inpatient consultation services as needed.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams including radiologists, surgeons, nurses, and support staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Educate patients and their families on diagnoses, treatment options, and prognosis.
- Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner CommunityWorks EMR system.
- Stay current with advancements in oncology through ongoing education, research, and professional development.
- Participate in shared on-call duties (schedule negotiable) and weekend rotations to support hospital coverage.
Qualifications:
- Valid medical license in the state of Vermont.
- Board Certification or Eligibility in Hematology and Oncology.
- Current BLS certification.
- DEA registration.
- VMS certification requirements: BLS, Board Certified or Eligible, DEA.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience in outpatient oncology preferred but not mandatory.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
