Job Opportunity: Locum Tenens Hematology Oncology Physician - New Clinic Establishment

Coverage Type: Clinic and Call
Schedule:
- Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Full-Time Hours)
- Weekend Call: 1 in 6 rotation (24-hour beeper call)
- Overtime (OT) will apply for hours worked beyond 40 per week.
About the Opportunity:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Hematology Oncology physician to play a crucial role in establishing a brand new clinic in Everett. This is an exciting locum tenens opportunity for a motivated provider who is comfortable with the unique challenges and rewards of building a practice within a community. Initially, the focus will be on seeing all new patients, with an increasing number of follow-up visits as the assignment progresses. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, resourceful, and passionate about delivering exceptional care in a developing clinical environment.
Responsibilities Include:
- Providing comprehensive hematology and oncology care to adult patients in an outpatient clinic setting.
- Conducting thorough patient evaluations, including medical history, physical examinations, and treatment planning.
- Managing a wide range of hematologic and oncologic conditions.
- Ordering and interpreting necessary diagnostic tests and procedures.
- Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans.
- Prescribing and managing chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other cancer-related therapies.
- Providing patient education and support to patients and their families.
- Participating in a 1:6 weekend call rotation (24-hour beeper call).
- Contributing to the establishment of clinical protocols and workflows in a new clinic setting.
Qualifications:
- Board Certified (BC) in Hematology and Oncology.
- Experience in both clinic-based hematology and oncology care.
- Comfort and enthusiasm for working in a newly established clinic environment.
- Strong clinical decision-making and communication skills.
- Proficiency in using Epic electronic medical records (EMR) system.
Patient Volume: The patient volume will initially consist of new patients, with a gradual increase in follow-up visits as the clinic grows.
Hospital Setting: While the primary focus is the outpatient clinic, the call responsibilities may involve communication and coordination with the affiliated hospital.
