Job description
Details & requirements for this opportunity:
- Specialty: Hematology Oncology
- Requirement: Physician (MD/DO)
- Location: Iowa
- Schedule: 0800-1630 Mon-Thurs clinic days (16 shifts per month)
- License: An active Iowa state license or IMLC membership is required.
- EMR: Epic
- Must be Board-Certified or Board-Eligible
- Other Details: This is a full-time Hematology/Oncology opportunity with variable patient contact hours and 16 shifts per month. Clinic hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with 8-hour shifts. On-call responsibilities include one week and one weekend per month. Inpatient duties are required, though hospital consults are infrequent, and hospitalists handle all admissions. The physician will provide consults, follow-up care, and oversee the administration of antineoplastics in the clinic. The team includes one physician, two APPs (no supervision required), and support from nursing (2:1 ratio), reception, lab, social workers, and referrals. Services include antineoplastics, phlebotomies, IV IgG, iron therapy, and bone marrow biopsies. Each provider has four exam rooms. The facility offers medical imaging, lab, and pharmacy services. Providers typically see 16–20 patients daily, with a hospital census of 0–2. Appointment lengths are adjustable. Patients are aged 18 and older. Epic is used for EMR, and there are teaching opportunities. Candidates must be Board Certified, have an active IA license or IMLC, and be fellowship trained in Hematology/Oncology. Experience is strongly preferred, though new graduates will be considered. Full-time availability is ideal, but those offering 1–2 weeks per month may also be submitted.
