Description:

Hematology Oncology Locums position in Baltimore, MD where Rotation of clinic/hospital (2-5 consults on avg per day while on call) and call coverage is needed. Here are some of the details:

Schedule- Looking for a 10-12 month contract but may consider candidates under 6 months.

• Call Schedule: Call is 1:4 or 1:5. While on call they have clinic 8a-12p and then attend to patients that have been admitted to hospital from 12:30-5p (The call will be on phone consult or give instructions. Rarely called in, if ever.) Very rare that there’s an emergency consultation that calls for them to come in.
• Clinic is open Monday-Friday: 8a-5pm
• Infusion Center is 8a-5p or 5:30p

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

• Board Certification in Hem/Onc: REQUIRED
• Active MD license only: REQUIRED
• Minimum 10 years practicing experience (not research experience) , but would consider 8—9 years if strong provider: REQUIRED
• Covid Vaccination: REQUIRED (Medical/Religious Exemptions Only)
• FLU Vaccination: REQUIRED (Medical Exemptions Only)

Practice Description:

• Support staff: 5 Med Oncs (1 is retiring on June 30), Call will be 1:4 or 1:5 weeks. 3 experienced NPs in the clinic, also nurse navigators and Medical Assistant.
• Patients per day: Avg volume is 15 patients per day in outpatient clinic Low is 8, some docs see 22. 2-5 consults on avg per day while on call. They get complicated patients.
• Patient population/age: all adults 18+ (there is a separate peds program)
• EMR: Cerner
• Outpatient Clinic details: multi-disciplinary area and exam rooms, 28 chair infusion center is across the hallway and Rad Onc is downstairs
• Practice Setting: Community Hospital, mostly outpatient clinic but will check in on their patients that are admitted at the hospital.
• Must attend a Tumor Board on Tuesday 8a-9am every week (virtual meeting, some docs are on this while driving or at home) to discuss patients and treatment recommendations for all the docs (no patients are scheduled during this time)
