We are seeking a highly skilled Hematologist Oncologist to join our team as a locum provider at a new cancer center in Pennsylvania. The ideal candidate must be board-certified in Oncology and have a strong background in hematology. The responsibilities include:
- Independently performing patient assessments in both outpatient (office visits and infusion treatments) and inpatient settings (inpatient rounding)
- Ordering and interpreting diagnostic work ups, including laboratory and radiography studies
- Educating patients on disease processes, symptom recognition, and management
- Ordering and managing chemotherapy administration, including scheduling, ordering, dose modifications, and regime changes
- Prescribing supportive drug therapies, including IVF, blood products, and medications
- Evaluating and adjusting care as needed for individual patients
- Coordinating with other physicians, nursing staff, and ancillary staff to ensure seamless care for patients
- Implementing evidence-based care for the treatment of patients
