Hem/Onc | Locum Tenens Gig in Illinois
LOCATION NOTE (northern Illinois, 1 hour NW of Chicago, IL)
- Monday - Friday - 8a-5p - 12-16 patients per day
- Weeknight call: 1 day per week - 5p-8a
- Weekend Call: every 4th weekend - 5pm Friday to 8am Monday
- 3 other medical Oncologists and 3 APPs (2 NPs and a PA)
- Round on inpatients, see new consults, patient issues
- Majority is clinic. On the day you are on call you will be responsible for the inpatients (current and new) but these are followed by our inpatient NP who is familiar with all the inpatients. This makes the process of rounding much more efficient.
- 235 Hospital beds
- APN who handles the majority of inpatient work but rounding necessary.
- Locums will write scripts and have a certified chemo nurses.
- 60-65% of oncology patients
- Other physicians, APPs, navigators will be working with the locum
- Potentially up to 1 day per week at an offsite clinic
- EMR: EPIC
- Time to Credential: 30-60 days
