The University of Texas Tyler School of Medicine in Tyler, TX (92 mi from Dallas) is searching for an accomplished leader to serve as the Chief of Hematology/Oncology.

About the Position:

  • 70% Academic and 30% Clinical (outpatient only)
  • Lead a team of 11 hematology/oncologists and three radiation oncologists
  • ​The Chief will report directly to the Chair of Internal Medicine and be responsible for developing a nationally-recognized division of hematology/oncology, integrating the diverse clinical and research activities, and leading the development of a new hematology/oncology fellowship training program.
  • Enjoy working at the state-of-the-art HOPE Cancer Center located at UT Health North Campus Tyler

Requirements:

  • Applicants should be at the Professor or Associate Professor Rank
  • ABIM certification in Hematology/Oncology
  • Experience with the expansion of clinical and research programs and faculty recruitment.
  • Experience with community outreach and engagement
  • A commitment to support efforts to promote a climate of diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of the Division
  • Leadership experience with the development of clinical and academic programs, including participation in clinical trials preferred
