Hematologist/Oncologist opening in Worcester County, Maryland Coastal community 1 hour to Dover, DE; 2 hours to Baltimore, DC, Philly Service area of 150,000 people Full time, permanent opening Heres your opportunity to escape urban living and become a welcomed member of a small family-oriented coastal community in Maryland. This hospital based CoC accredited cancer center, seeks to hire a Hematologist / Oncologist to join their multi-specialty medical group, at their state of the art medical center in Berlin, Maryland. Berlin/Ocean City. Berlin was voted as Americas Coolest Small Town, and the hospital is just minutes from the beautiful beaches of Ocean City, Maryland and Fenwick Island, Delaware. The Berlin/Ocean City area is a great place to live and work, and offers an excellent work-life balance. There are abundant outdoor activities, including all types of water sports and 17 championship golf courses within a 15-mile radius. There are well over 200 restaurants in the area. The summer time resort provides year-round activities for the locals, without the traffic, crime and high cost of living that often accompany larger metropolitan areas. This is an ideal opportunity for physicians with an interest in living and working at the beach. The area is also an easy drive from Baltimore, Washington D.C. and Philadelphia, offering access to the opportunities of these larger metropolitan areas. This opportunity provides a multidisciplinary team approach in a practice with a strong regional referral base that has a growing patient population, In-house lab, diagnostic services, treatment facilities and physicians offices. The 18,000-square foot building, the Burbage Regional Cancer Care Center opened in 2018 and takes a multidisciplinary approach to treating cancer as a complex group of diseases that requires consultation among surgeons, medical and radiation oncologists, diagnostic radiologists, pathologists, and other cancer specialists. Two-thirds of cancers treated at the center are melanomas, and many patients come from other areas of the country to continue treatment while taking a beach vacation. The Regional Cancer Care Center is currently staffed by one medical oncologist, one radiation oncologist, a mid-level provider and five nurses. The cancer center has five medical oncology examination rooms and eight infusion chairs with two private rooms. The successful candidate will be motivated and driven to build a practice and must be board certified in Hematology and Medical oncology. Hours: Office hours are 8:00 am 5:00 pm Monday Friday. Office call 1:2 with Hospital Consulting privileges. Hospitalists admits patients. Oncology / cancer care services include: Surgery Chemotherapy Radiation oncology Genetic counseling Immunotherapy Palliative care and complementary therapies Hematology Nutrition advice and planning A dedicated oncology pharmacy is located on site Telehealth access to specialists at the Greenebaum Cancer Center at the University of Maryland for more complex cancer diagnoses Counseling and psychological support Employed position with a competitive base salary based on MGMA data, commensurate with experience and training; with guaranteed base and upside wRVU Potential.
