Obstetrics and Gynecology Physician Opportunity - La Porte, IN Position OverviewCommunity Health Systems is seeking a locum tenens Obstetrics and Gynecology physician for La Porte Hospital. This is a call-only coverage position addressing a vacancy in a long-term permanent search. The assignment offers flexibility with shift availability beginning July 2026 and continuing into 2027. This inpatient role utilizes the Cerner EMR system and requires board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Key Responsibilities
Beeper call coverage with a 30-minute response time requirement
Inpatient obstetric and gynecologic care management
Patient encounters approximately 10 per shift
Phone consultations as needed
Both inpatient rounding and call management
Admission responsibilities as outlined in call ratio
Candidate Requirements
Current Indiana medical license required
Indiana DEA registration required
Board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology (certified minimum)
Clean NPDB databank
Clean background check
Current CSR (Clinical Support Register) status
Adequate case logs demonstrating competency
ACLS certification required
BLS certification required
PALS certification required
