A major healthcare organization in Iowa is seeking a Locum to Perm OB/GYN Hospitalist to begin January 1, 2026. This is a full-time hospitalist position with 24-hour in-house call and a consistent monthly schedule.

Position Overview

  • Start Date: January 1, 2026

  • Shift Length: 24 hours (7a–7a)

  • Shifts per Month: 6.5

  • Call: 24/7 in-house; call rooms available

  • Telehealth: No

  • Inpatient Only

  • No GYN responsibilities

  • EMR: Epic

Support & Environment:

  • 8-bed OBED

  • On-site imaging, lab, and pharmacy

  • MFM available on call

  • Residents present, but hospitalist does not supervise them

  • Approx. 1,389 OBED visits/year, with ~463 deliveries annually

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage OBED patients

  • Provide care for emergent obstetric cases, including vaginal deliveries and C-sections

  • Care for unassigned obstetric patients

  • Participate in Iowa’s only maternity transport team

Rate Categories Required for Submission

(Malpractice must be included in all rates)

  • Orientation

  • Hourly

  • Holiday Hourly

  • Overtime

  • Holiday Overtime

  • Conversion Fee (capped at $25,000)

All providers must sign an attestation confirming they are actively seeking a permanent position.

Submission Requirements

  • Board Certified, or truly Board Eligible – Required

  • Active Iowa license or IMLCRequired (LOQ must be uploaded at name clear)

  • Clean malpractice and backgroundRequired
