A leading healthcare system in Des Moines, IA is seeking a dedicated OB/GYN Hospitalist for a Locum-to-Perm role beginning January 1, 2026. Provide high-impact inpatient maternity care as part of Iowa’s only maternity transport team, with robust support and no GYN responsibilities.

🌟 Position Highlights

• 📅 Start Date: January 1, 2026

• 🕒 Shift Structure:

  • 24-hour shifts (7 AM–7 AM)

  • 6.5 shifts per month

• 🏥 Setting: Inpatient OB Hospitalist role

• 🚫 Telehealth: None

• 🤝 APP Supervision: Not required

• 🛏️ OBED: 8-bed OB Emergency Department

• 🧪 Imaging/Lab/Pharmacy: Fully available

• 👶 Volume:

  • ~1,389 OBED visits/year

  • ~463 deliveries/year

• 🩺 Support:

  • MFM always on call

  • Residents present but not under Hospitalist supervision

• ❌ No GYN responsibilities

• 💻 EMR: Epic

👶 Job Responsibilities

• Manage OBED patients

• Handle emergent OB cases (vaginal deliveries & C-sections)

• Care for unassigned OB patients

• Participate with Iowa’s only maternity transport team
