Seeking a Locums Obstetrics and Gynecology Laborist to play a key role in collaborative care with the midwifery team in the inpatient setting. This clinical position involves providing obstetrical and postpartum care for patients, with a focus on collaboration with the midwifery team. The role encompasses 100% clinical duties within the Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, and Antepartum floors.

Compensation: $285,000-$310,000

Responsibilities:

· Provide direct patient care for OB/GYN patients and co-manage care with the midwifery team for higher-risk patients with complex labor courses, including the need for operative delivery.

· Ensure ongoing collaboration with the midwifery team and the MSW Resident/Laborist Nursing teams to maintain high-quality care standards.

· Cover 14 (12-hour) shifts per month on the MSW Labor & Delivery (L&D) floor as Ob/Gyn, including coverage for patients requiring OB/GYN care and co-management with the midwifery team.

· Cover 1st call shifts as needed in staffing shortages/emergency situations (to be included in the total 14 shifts).

· Round on, care for, and discharge postpartum patients who have had operative deliveries or are higher-risk patients requiring care coordination.

· Round on, care for, and discharge patients who have been readmitted to the hospital.

· Round on, care for, and discharge patients on the antepartum service as needed to follow up on MFM recommendations.

· Participate in the education and training of new midwives, residents, and medical and midwifery students.

Experience & Qualifications:

· MD or DO degree.

· Residency in obstetrics/gynecology.

· 3-5 years of post-residency/fellowship experience in obstetrics, preferably with a focus on obstetrics.

· Experience in building and/or managing clinical programs.
