Harris Medical Associates is seeking a BC/BE Gastroenterologist for a long term locums assignment at the VAMC in Augusta ,ME
Assignment dates 8-13-2015 through 9-30-2016
Clinic hours 8-4:30 Monday- Friday
Call ratio 1:4/ 1 Weekend per month Clinic and Surgical Care:
. Services performed include, but are not limited to:
• Perform 6-12 outpatient examinations per day, approximately 3 days per week
• Provide 1-3 consultation services related to gastroenterology to the medical staff per day;
• Admits and manages patients with various gastrointestinal disease (1 per week)
• Oversees the administration of Interferon to patients with hepatitis C;
• Oversees the administration of conscious sedation, approximately 20%-40% of the time;
• Ensures communication with incoming evening Hospitalist regarding patient care issues;
Operative Services: Contractor physician(s) shall provide comprehensive clinical gastroenterology services including the full range of colonoscopy and Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) procedures:
Colonoscopy
Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD)
Paracentesis
Esophageal Manometry
24-hour pH Monitor
