Locums - Bellingham, Washington | Gastroenterology Opportunity (IMLC Accepted)

Clinical Role

Join an established Gastroenterology practice in Bellingham, Washington, providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient GI care. This six-month locums opportunity offers a combination of ambulatory clinic, endoscopy, and hospital coverage, including 24-hour call shifts. Work alongside other Gastroenterologists within an established practice while providing care to an adult patient population.

Ambulatory clinic/endoscopy coverage:

  • 8-9 hour day shifts

Hospital coverage:

  • 24-hour call shifts
  • Weekday and weekend call coverage
  • Call includes rounding, consultations, and inpatient/outpatient GI procedures

Clinical Details & Responsibilities

Practice Setting:

Inpatient and outpatient Gastroenterology

Patient Population:

Adults ages 18+

Patient Volume:

  • Clinic: approximately 16 patients per day
  • Outpatient Endoscopy Center: approximately 14-16 patients per day
  • Hospital census varies

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Gastroenterology clinic coverage
  • Outpatient endoscopy coverage
  • Hospital rounding
  • Admissions
  • Gastroenterology consultations
  • Inpatient and outpatient GI procedures
  • 24-hour hospital call coverage
  • Collaborate with other Gastroenterologists within the practice

Procedures & Skills

Required experience with:

  • General Gastroenterology procedures
  • ERCP
  • Inpatient and outpatient GI procedures

Support & Technology

Clinical Support:

  • Established Gastroenterology physician team
  • Provider will not work solo
  • Other GI physicians are part of the practice

EMR & Technology:

  • Epic EMR experience preferred
  • ProVation GI software experience preferred

Requirements

  • Board Certified in Gastroenterology required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience required
  • Washington license preferred
  • IMLC candidates accepted
  • ACLS required
  • Required certification must be through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, as applicable

Credentialing

Washington-licensed candidates are preferred; IMLC candidates will also be considered.
