Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:30 PM

Position Overview:
Seeking Board-Certified Gastroenterologists for locum tenens coverage in Bellingham, Washington. Providers will support both clinic and hospital-based GI services, including consultations, rounding, and procedures.
Clinical Responsibilities:
- General gastroenterology services in inpatient and outpatient settings
- Clinic visits and consultations
- Inpatient rounding and consultations
- Outpatient endoscopy procedures
- Hospital-based outpatient procedures
- General GI procedures, including:

Colonoscopy

EGD
-
Flexible sigmoidoscopy

Dilation
-
- Average clinic volume: approximately 16 patients/day
- Outpatient endoscopy volume: approximately 14–16 patients/day
- Hospital census varies
Call
- 24-hour General GI call is not mandatory
- Strong preference for providers willing to take 24-hour call
- Call responsibilities may include consultations, rounding, and inpatient/outpatient GI procedures
- Provider's willingness to take call must be clearly confirmed during submission
Requirements:
- MD or DO
- Board Certified in Gastroenterology
- Minimum 1 year of experience
- Washington medical license or IMLC eligibility
- Epic experience
- BLS and ACLS
- Recent gastroenterology clinical activity/case documentation required for requested privileges
- COVID-19 vaccination required per facility policy
Practice Environment:
- Work alongside other gastroenterologists
- Both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities
- Hospital and outpatient endoscopy settings
- General GI practice
Advanced Endoscopy:
- For providers who perform advanced procedures:
- ERCP experience should be clearly documented
- EUS experience should be clearly documented
- Advanced endoscopy training and experience should be provided
- Recent ERCP volume and experience may be requested
- Providers should be able to discuss their ERCP training, annual case volume, recent case volume, and cannulation rates when applicable
Credentialing:
- Standard credentialing timeline: approximately 90 days
- Temporary privileges may be available depending on eligibility
- Recent case logs and supporting clinical documentation may be required for requested privileges
