Practice Setting and Clinical Scope
This role is 100% inpatient, allowing you to focus exclusively on hospital-based care. With an average daily patient volume of 8 follow-up visits and 6-8 new consults, the position promises a steady yet manageable pace. The facility is well-equipped to support a wide range of gastroenterological procedures, including colonoscopy, EGD, and advanced GI procedures. While ERCP experience is preferred, it is not mandatory, providing a flexible environment for the right candidate.
Schedule and Assignment Details
The role requires a minimum commitment of one week per month, with a 24-hour call schedule from Saturday 7:00 AM to the following Saturday at 6:59 AM. During this period, in-house presence is required from 7 AM to 3 PM, followed by on-call availability via pager overnight. This predictable schedule offers a clear work-life balance while ensuring continuity of care for patients.
Support and Work Environment

Qualifications
- Board Certification in Gastroenterology is required.
- Completion of a Gastroenterology fellowship is mandatory.
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications through AHA are required.
- A clean background with no malpractice or licensing issues is non-negotiable.
- Active Michigan medical license at the time of name clearance is essential.
