Opportunity:
Physician - Internal Medicine - Gastroenterology
Job Details:
Perform scheduled general GI outpatient hospital procedures on a locum tenens basisSchedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM with no holidays and no call
Position covers 2 weeks per month
Average of 15 patient encounters per shift
Board certification required at minimum certified level with fellowship training
ACLS and BLS certifications required
Required procedures include upper GI endoscopy with biopsy, foreign body removal, fulguration of bleeder, and injection of varices
Lower GI endoscopy, sigmoidoscopy (flexible and rigid), and colonoscopy with biopsy and polyp excision are required
Small bowel biopsy experience preferred
Nearest major airport is Piedmont Triad International
