Locums | Gastroenterology | Tyler, TX (TX license) Why This Role

  • Full GI scope including ERCP and EUS
  • Fast 30-60 day credentialing, temp privileges available
  • Ongoing coverage need — locums-to-perm potential
Assignment Details Start/end: 10/15 through 10/21 (with ongoing coverage needs for vacation, CME, and call conflicts) Schedule: Mon-Fri scheduled colonoscopies plus inpatient consults from the night before, with follow-up procedures in the GI suite; beeper call, 4-6 ratio, 10-15% callback Coverage type: Call only, inpatient Volume: 5-7 patients/shift; 4-6 seen on call; 4-6 admissions; 7 beds Setting: Level 1 trauma, stroke certified, admissions required; busy hospitalist service provides primary medical care until GI consults Support: 1-2 RNs; practice has 2 NPs and 1 PA-C doing pre/post workups EMR: Epic Credentialing: 30-60 days; temp privileges available Clinical Details Required scope: Upper GI endoscopy (with biopsy, foreign body removal, cautery, variceal injection, ERCP diagnostic and therapeutic, PEG), esophageal dilatation/manometry and interpretation, small bowel biopsy, lower GI endoscopy, sigmoidoscopy (flexible and rigid), colonoscopy (with biopsy and polyp excision), endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), liver biopsy, Sengstaken/Blakemore tube management Rounds on assigned and unassigned patients Requirements Board certified in Gastroenterology Fellowship License: TX required ABLS, ACLS, ATLS, BLS Active DEA Compensation Rate negotiable, open to your number Malpractice provided Travel and lodging reimbursed
