Locums | Gastroenterology | Largo, MD (MD or IMLC) Why This Role

  • Monday-Friday endoscopy coverage
  • Locums-to-perm potential
  • No ERCP or EUS required
  • Ongoing need
Assignment Details Start/end: As soon as credentialed; ongoing Schedule: 8am-5pm with 1-hour unpaid lunch Coverage type: Scheduled endoscopy; no call Volume: Upper endoscopy ~30 min; colonoscopy ~30 min; combined procedures ~60 min Setting: Outpatient Gastroenterology/endoscopy Support: Most cases use physician/nurse-administered moderate sedation; occasional anesthesiology support EMR: Epic Credentialing: 60-90 days; no temporary privileges Clinical Details Required scope: Upper GI endoscopy with biopsy, foreign body removal and control of bleeding Required scope: Lower GI endoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy and colonoscopy Required scope: Colonoscopy with biopsy and polypectomy Required scope: Small bowel biopsy Must be comfortable administering moderate sedation without routine anesthesiology support Preferred: Esophageal dilation/manometry, manometry interpretation and rigid sigmoidoscopy ERCP and EUS not required Requirements Gastroenterology board certification required; minimum board status to be confirmed Gastroenterology fellowship training License: MD or IMLC ACLS and BLS Active DEA Compensation Rate negotiable, open to your number Malpractice provided Travel and lodging reimbursed
