Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Setting: Outpatient / Endoscopy
EMR: Epic
Practice Details:
- Outpatient gastroenterology and endoscopy coverage
- Scheduled clinical hours only
- No inpatient responsibilities
- No admissions or rounding
- No APP supervision required
- Facility privileges required
- Most cases are performed with moderate sedation
- Physician and nurse administer moderate sedation
- Must be comfortable with moderate sedation
Candidate Requirements:
- Board Certified in Gastroenterology – Required
- Gastroenterology Fellowship – Required
- Active Maryland medical license or IMLC – Required
- BLS – Required
- ACLS – Required
Required Procedures:
- Upper GI endoscopy
- EGD with biopsy
- Foreign body removal
- Fulguration of bleeder
- Small bowel biopsy
- Lower GI endoscopy
- Sigmoidoscopy
- Flexible endoscopy
- Colonoscopy
- Colonoscopy with biopsy
- Colonoscopy with excision of polyp
Preferred Procedures:
- Esophageal dilation/manometry
- Esophageal manometry interpretation
- Rigid endoscopy
Additional Information:
- Credentialing: Approximately 60–90 days
- Malpractice: Provided
