Gastroenterologist – VA Medical Center
Location: Lexington, Kentucky
Facility: Lexington VA Health Care System – Troy Bowling Campus - Lexington, KY 40502
Position: Gastroenterology (GI) Physician
Contract Period: November 1, 2026 – October 31, 2027
Position Overview
Sygnetics is seeking Board-Certified Gastroenterologists to provide physician services supporting the Lexington VA Health Care System – Troy Bowling Campus in Lexington, Kentucky.
Gastroenterologists will provide a combination of off-site call coverage and on-site GI services, including consultations, clinical coverage, and endoscopy services for Veterans receiving care through the Lexington VA Health Care System.
Schedule & Coverage
Coverage requirements include:
- Monday–Friday Call: 15.5 hours per day
- Saturday–Sunday Call: 24 hours per day
- GI Consult Coverage: On-site
- Clinical GI Coverage: On-site
- Endoscopy Coverage: On-site
The government's stated workload includes 261 days of weekday call, 104 days of weekend call, 1,300 hours of consult coverage, 1,300 hours of clinical coverage, and 1,040 hours of endoscopy coverage.
Qualifications
Required:
- MD or DO
- Board Certified in Gastroenterology
- Ability to provide GI consultation, clinical, and endoscopy services
- Ability to participate in weekday and/or weekend call coverage
- Ability to meet VA credentialing and privileging requirements
