Assignment: 13 weeks with potential extension
Schedule: Day shifts; no weekends except when on call
Setting: Inpatient & outpatient
Job Responsibilities
Perform rounding, admissions, and GI procedures.
Provide 24-hour hospital call coverage as scheduled.
Evaluate and manage GI patients in collaboration with the GI team.
Provide morning clinic support while on call.
Manage appropriate consults and follow-up care.
Document patient care and clinical activities accurately in Epic EMR.
Collaborate with other gastroenterologists and hospital staff to ensure continuity of care.
Qualifications
Board Certified in Gastroenterology
Minimum 1 year of experience
Active Washington license preferred; candidates willing to obtain a WA license may be considered
Required certifications per facility guidelines
Working Hours
Weekends: No regular weekend coverage, except when on call
Call: 14 hospital shifts per month
Call Schedule: 24-hour call with morning clinic assistance
Schedule: Daytime coverage with flexible scheduling based on call requirements
Orientation: 8 hours
Skills
MD/DO with at least 1 year of GI experience
Active Washington medical license or willingness to obtain one
Proficiency with Epic EMR
Experience with inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology
Ability to manage rounding, admissions, and GI procedures
Comfortable providing 24-hour call coverage
Strong clinical assessment, decision-making, and patient management skills
Effective communication and teamwork with GI and hospital staff
Ability to work independently while collaborating within a multidisciplinary team
