Schedule:

• 7-day coverage blocks: Monday 7:00 AM – Monday 7:00 AM
• Daily rounding: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday–Sunday
• 8 hours onsite followed by beeper call
• Full-week assignments required (7–14 day stretches preferred)

• July 6–12
• August 3–10
• August 31 – September 7
• September 28 – October 5
• October 26 – November 2
• November 23–30

Practice Highlights:

• Inpatient Gastroenterology service
• Average 15 patients per day
• 5–10 admissions during call coverage
• Daily inpatient rounding
• Supervision of Advanced Practice Providers
• Support from 3 RNs and 3 PA/NPs

Required Procedural Skills:

Candidates must be experienced with:

• ERCP (Diagnostic & Therapeutic)
• Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS)
• Upper GI Endoscopy (EGD)
• Colonoscopy with biopsy and polypectomy
• Flexible Sigmoidoscopy
• PEG placement
• Esophageal dilation and manometry interpretation
• Small bowel biopsy
• Liver biopsy
• Foreign body removal
• Hemostasis/bleeding control
• Variceal injection

Call Responsibilities:

• Beeper call coverage
• Approximately 15+ patient encounters
• Around 30% callback rate
• Inpatient call coverage

Qualifications:

• MD/DO
• Board Certified in Gastroenterology
• Fellowship training preferred
• Active New Mexico Medical License
• Active New Mexico Board of Pharmacy Registration
• DEA eligible for New Mexico
• Current ACLS & BLS
• Clean background required for temporary privileges
