Position Highlights:

- Inpatient setting only
- Scheduled clinical hours only
- No call required
- Average patient volume: approximately 20 patients per shift
- Admissions required
- Assigned patient rounding
- Epic EMR
- Opportunity to supervise Advanced Practice Providers and participate in resident teaching
Support Staff:
- Registered Nurse (RN)
- Medical Assistant (MA)
- Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner (PA/NP)
Office support staff
Requirements:
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Gastroenterology
- Gastroenterology fellowship required
- An active Virginia medical license is required at the time of submission
- BLS certification required
- Ability to obtain full hospital credentials (estimated credentialing timeframe: approximately 90 days)
Required Procedural Skills:
- Upper GI endoscopy with biopsy and therapeutic interventions
- Foreign body removal
- Hemostasis procedures and variceal injections
- ERCP (diagnostic and therapeutic)
- PEG placement
- Esophageal dilation and manometry
- Small bowel biopsy
- Flexible sigmoidoscopy
- Colonoscopy with biopsy and polypectomy
- Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)
- Liver biopsy
- Management of Sengstaken-Blakemore tubes
