Gastroenterology Physician Job Description
Seeking a Gastroenterology Physician to provide high-quality care for patients with digestive system conditions in a clinical and/or hospital-based setting. The GI Physician will evaluate, diagnose, treat, and manage patients with disorders of the gastrointestinal tract, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, and related systems. This role may include outpatient clinic coverage, inpatient consults, and endoscopic procedures depending on facility needs.
The ideal candidate will have strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and experience performing common GI procedures such as colonoscopies and upper endoscopies. The physician will work closely with primary care providers, hospitalists, surgeons, advanced practice providers, nurses, and other clinical staff to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
Job Responsibilities
Qualifications
Certs: BLS and ACLS
Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible (must be certified within 5 years of completing training)
MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency.
Completion of a Gastroenterology Fellowship.
Active or eligible state medical license.
Active DEA preferred or required depending on assignment.
BLS and/or ACLS may be required.
Experience with endoscopic procedures required.
Strong clinical, procedural, and documentation skills.
Working Hours
No after-hours call required.
No weekends, no holidays
