Job description
We are seeking a Gastroenterologist for a locum tenens position in Potsdam, NY. This is a 24-hour call coverage opportunity with office and procedure expectations Monday through Friday. Please see below for more information.
EMR: Epic
Job Responsibilities
Manage disorders of the stomach, intestines, colon, pancreas, esophagus, gallbladder, bile ducts, and liver
Treat conditions including IBS, colitis, gastritis, Crohn's disease, GERD, ulcers, and celiac disease
Perform upper and lower endoscopies and colonoscopies
Conduct office visits during 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM hours and procedures during 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM hours as part of 24-hour call coverage
Qualifications
Active New York State Medical License required (license in hand)
AHA BLS and ACLS certification required
Upper and lower scope experience required
Epic EMR experience required
Working Hours
Office hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Procedure hours: 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Full weeks preferred; consecutive weeks strongly encouraged
Coverage type: Scheduled + On Call
Patient population: Adults acutely ill with a wide variety of medical problems
Patient ratio: 1:15–20
Medication dispensing system: Pyxis
EMR: Epic
