A healthcare facility in Michigan is seeking an experienced Gastroenterologist for an immediate locums assignment with daytime procedural coverage and select weekend call responsibilities. This is a strong opportunity for providers seeking a hospital-based GI role with consistent weekday hours and support from an established team.

Position Highlights:

• Start: ASAP
• Hospital-based GI practice
• Monday–Friday schedule: 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• No weekday night call
• 24-hour weekend call when scheduled

Open Coverage Dates:

• 5/14/2026 – 6/1/2026 at 5:00 PM
  • Daily 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Includes 24-hour weekend call
• 6/1/2026 – 6/11/2026
  • Daily 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • No night call

Practice Setting:

• Hospital GI service
• Endoscopy coverage plus inpatient consults during daytime hours
• Approximate volume:
  • 18 outpatient scopes/day
  • 20 inpatient scopes/day

Support Team:

• 2 Physicians
• 2 APPs
• Full hospital support services onsite

Facility Resources:

• Onsite lab
• Onsite imaging
• EMR: Cerner

Compensation:

Requirements:

• Board Certified Gastroenterology (strongly preferred; truly BE considered)
• Active Michigan license and CSR at submission
• ACLS required
• DEA confirmation required
• Local candidates able to drive in required
• Fellowship completed with minimum 2–3 years of experience
• Clean background history required
• COVID vaccination required
• Current NPDB self-query within 30 days
