24-Hour Inpatient Call | ERCP Required | Immediate Ongoing Need

A healthcare facility in Kentucky is actively seeking a Gastroenterologist for an immediate and ongoing locums assignment until a permanent provider is hired. This is an excellent opportunity for a physician seeking inpatient-only GI coverage with strong call compensation and dedicated APP support.

Position Highlights:

• Start: ASAP
• Ongoing need until permanent replacement is secured
• 24-hour call coverage with inpatient responsibilities
• Average 6–8 hours physically in hospital per day
• Inpatient-focused role with no clinic duties noted

Immediate Coverage Need:

• 5/26 – 6/1
  (General GI candidates may be considered for these dates)

Practice Setting:

• Inpatient / Hospital-based GI service
• Coverage includes:
  • Inpatient rounding
  • GI consults
  • ED call coverage
  • Inpatient GI procedures
  • Endoscopy services
  • ERCP procedures

Clinical Volume:

• Approx. 10 admissions per night
• 10–20 patients per day

Support Team:

• 3 dedicated inpatient APPs supporting GI service
• Assistance available in endoscopy, inpatient floors, and ED consult workflow

EMR:

• Epic

Compensation:

Competitive premium rates available:

• 24-Hour Call: up to $3,900/day
• Holiday 24-Hour Call: up to $5,850/day
• Callback: up to $429/hour
• Holiday callback premiums available
• Orientation compensation available

(Malpractice must be included in submitted rates.)

Requirements:

• Board Certified or Board Eligible Gastroenterology
• Kentucky license highly preferred (IMLC considered)
• ERCP required
• ACLS and DEA required
• Clean malpractice history strongly preferred for expedited privileges
• Availability confirmed at submission
• Current NPDB self-query within 30 days
