A hospital in Des Moines, Iowa is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Gastroenterologist to provide inpatient GI coverage with 24-hour call support. This opportunity offers a collaborative care environment with APP support and access to advanced endoscopy procedures.

🏥 Practice Setting: Inpatient Hospital Coverage

• Provide GI coverage at a well-established hospital practice
• Perform advanced procedures including Colonoscopy, EUS, and ERCP
• Work with APP support for rounding and patient care
• Manage an average inpatient census of 10–12 patients per day
• Access to onsite medical imaging, lab, and pharmacy services
• Utilize Epic EMR for streamlined documentation and patient management

📅 Schedule & Coverage

• Patient Contact Hours: 7 AM – 7 AM
• Call Schedule: 24-hour call with 8 hours onsite coverage required

Coverage Dates

• November 23 (7 AM) – November 27 (7 AM)
• December 21 (7 AM) – December 26 (7 AM)
• Additional ongoing coverage dates available

Candidate Requirements

✔ Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible in Gastroenterology – REQUIRED
✔ Gastroenterology Fellowship Training – REQUIRED
✔ Active Iowa License or IMLC – REQUIRED
✔ Must be experienced and comfortable performing EUS & ERCP – REQUIRED
✔ Must be available for the listed coverage dates – REQUIRED
✔ Clean malpractice and background history – REQUIRED
✔ NPDB report required at submission (within last 30–90 days)
