Are you a dedicated Gastroenterology Physician seeking a rewarding role in a dynamic healthcare environment? We are looking for a highly qualified professional to provide exceptional care to adult patients and support our reputable hospital's gastroenterology department. This ongoing position offers a unique chance to impact patient lives while enjoying competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of gastroenterological procedures with expertise and precision.
- Provide consultative and diagnostic services to adult patients aged 18 and older.
- Collaborate with onsite anesthesiology staff for procedures requiring sedation.
- Participate in 24-hour call coverage, including seven-day blocks, weekends, and scheduled workdays.
- Work shifts of 10 hours, typically starting at 7:30 AM, with flexible scheduling to meet department needs.
- Support hospital staff in a fast-paced environment with extensive EMR documentation using EPIC.
- Maintain compliance with hospital protocols, licensure, DEA, and credentialing standards.
Required Skills:
- Board Certification or Eligibility in Gastroenterology (BE or BC).
- Valid medical license in Pennsylvania.
- DEA certification.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in gastroenterology.
- Strong procedural skills, including managing adult patient care.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work on 7 am to 7 am shift blocks with 24-hour call requirements.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with advanced procedures such as ERCP or EUS.
- Prior experience working within hospital settings.
- Familiarity with EPIC EMR system.
- Ability to handle high patient volumes efficiently.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Current certification and state licensure tailored to Pennsylvania.
- At least one year of post-residency practice in a hospital environment.
Other Requirements:
- Availability for scheduled 7-day shift blocks and weekend coverage.
- Willingness to support hospital with on-call duties as needed.
- Reliable transportation for potential travel reimbursements when applicable.
