Description

A Pennsylvania healthcare system is seeking a Gastroenterologist for a locum opportunity providing inpatient coverage, endoscopy procedures, and 24-hour call. This role includes scheduled morning procedures, afternoon inpatient coverage, and occasional clinic time.

The position offers a predictable two-weeks-per-month schedule with anesthesia support and no advanced procedures required.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient gastroenterology coverage
• Perform scheduled endoscopy procedures
• Participate in 24-hour call coverage
• Provide weekend rounding as needed
• Conduct limited outpatient clinic visits
• Collaborate with anesthesia and hospital staff
• Manage consults and follow-ups
• Document patient encounters using Epic EMR

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology
• Active Pennsylvania license or willingness to obtain
• DEA required
• Minimum 1 year experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience preferred

Working Hours

2 weeks per month
Monday 7:00 AM – Monday 7:00 AM (24-hour call)

Weekday Schedule:

• 8 hours per day (M–F)
• Procedures: 7:30 AM – 12:00 PM (Wed–Fri, occasional Monday)
• Afternoon: inpatient coverage
• Occasional clinic time

No ERCP or EUS required
