Description

A Pennsylvania healthcare system is seeking a Gastroenterologist for a locum assignment with 24-hour call coverage. The provider will perform scheduled endoscopic procedures, inpatient consults, and limited clinic coverage.

This opportunity offers a predictable 2-weeks-per-month schedule with anesthesia support and no ERCP or EUS required.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform GI endoscopic procedures
• Provide inpatient gastroenterology consults
• Participate in 24-hour call coverage
• Conduct morning procedure block coverage
• Provide occasional outpatient clinic coverage
• Manage inpatient rounding in afternoons
• Collaborate with anesthesia and hospital staff
• Document encounters using Epic EMR

Qualifications

• MD or DO required
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology
• Active Pennsylvania license or willingness to obtain
• DEA required
• Minimum 1 year experience required
• ERCP/EUS not required
• Epic EMR experience preferred

Working Hours

Coverage: 2 weeks per month

Schedule:
Monday 7:00 AM – Monday 7:00 AM (24-hour call week)

Daily Workflow:

• Morning procedures: 7:30 AM – 12:00 PM (Wed–Fri, occasional Monday)
• Afternoon inpatient rounding
• Occasional clinic time (4 hours)
• Weekend rounding and procedures as needed

Hours:
8 hours per day Monday–Friday + 24-hour call coverage
